Schneider’s iPro Lens System for iPhone Gets 2x Tele Lens Upgrade

If you haven’t already heard, Schneider Optics isn’t just making filters and lenses these days. Their cool iPhone accessory, the iPro Lens System, has been quite popular and is an excellent purchase for those looking to capturing exceptional images on the iPhone.

The iPro Lens System comes with the iPhone case and two lenses – a Wide-Angle and a Fisheye. The lenses store in their own case that doubles as the handle that attaches to one of two 1/4″-20 holes on the main iPhone case.  Being a standard size for camera mounting gear (tripods, monopods, car mounts, bean bags,  and more) the 1/4″-20 holes also open up a variety of mounting possibilities for your iPhone.

The newest addition to the system is the 2x Tele Lens:

2X Tele Lens

Now your iPhone camera can shoot twice the distance and get twice as close with the 2X Tele Lens. Whether you’re capturing the action from the sidelines, snapping a shot of a butterfly in the backyard, or framing a beautiful portrait, this lens allows you to do it all without compromising the quality of the image.

iPRO LENS SPECIFICATIONS

LENS FOV STILL FOV VIDEO 35MM EQUIVALENT STILL 35MM EQUIVALENT VIDEO
iPhone 62° 46° 30mm 42mm
Fisheye 160° 120° 12mm 16mm
Wide Angle 86° 70° 19mm 26mm
2X Tele 31° 23° 60mm 84mm
FOV = field of view. On the iPhone 4/4S the video mode uses less of the sensor than the still image mode so the field of view is less. Therefore we show the FOV for both modes because they are different.
35mm equivalent: Because many people are familiar with what FOV is associated with different focal length lenses on 35mm Still Cameras it is common to equate other cameras and lenses to what focal length lens would give the same picture on your Nikon, Canon, or other full frame 35mm camera.
