While on set, the need to get your voice heard is always a necessity. If you don’t want the sore throat in the morning, the use of a “bullhorn” or “megaphone” is essential.
While the Fanon MV-20S megaphone has been the standard for the industry for quite a while now, there are times where you may not need the range of the powerful Fanon. If you’re on a smaller set, your budget may be smaller as well, and the cost of the Fanon may not be your best use of resources. So what do you do if you still need a bullhorn to call the shots? You’re in luck… Filmtools just got a new line of “Budget Friendly” megaphones that will get the job done and save a few bucks in the process.
From a company named Uzi (yep, that Uzi) comes two different bullhorns that are loud, functional, and won’t break the bank. The Uzi bullhorn comes two different sizes, a 15 and a 50 watt, the latter being the weapon of choice most comparable to more expensive megaphones.
Both models come with recording and playback capabilities, a siren function, adjustable volume, and an LED indicator. The Uzi 15 watt has a foldable handle and a wrist strap. The larger, 50 watt model features a detachable microphone with a coiled cord and a convenient shoulder strap. With a 650 yard sound range, the 50 watt model is more than adequate on most sets.
Uzi 50 Watt Megaphone $59.95 $47.95
Uzi 15 Watt Megaphone $29.95 $24.95
