TVLogic Lightweight 7″ HD LCD Monitor Now Available at Filmtools

After the wild success of the VFM-056W 5.6” Compact HD monitor, TV Logic has released a 7” lightweight HD LCD Monitor (LVM-074W) that offers all of the great features we saw in the 5.6”, plus some exciting new ones.
One of the features of the 7″ that made the 5.6″ monitor so popular, especially among indie filmmakers, was its built-in HDMI to SDI converter. This eliminated the need to purchase a $400 converter box. That combined with Waveform and Vector Scope, as well as Luma Check for exposure adjustments (aka “predator vision” by camera departments on set), Focus Assist (Peaking Filter), Pixel to Pixel Mode, DSLR Scale, and more make both of these monitors highly sought after. Both monitors also contain Range Error, a nifty tool that analyzes Luma and Chroma components and warns the user with flashing pixels when the video signal is over or under the maximum designated range.
So, what’s new?  Aside from the obvious upgrade in display size, NEW with the LVM-074W 7″ Monitor is a combined Luma Check-Zebra Pattern, which displays a designated Luma Level (your chosen exposure level) as a zebra pattern.  Also, where the VFM-056W had just two buttons on the back to navigate its menus (cutting down on size and clutter), the LVM-074W features more user-friendly buttons on the front of the monitor, with assignable functions keys, independent brightness and contrast control, and other menu functions.

Another new feature, currently unique to the LVM-074W is TVLogic’s new user selectable Temperature Adaptive Color function that measures LCD panel temperature with an internal sensor and automatically compensates the white balance drift caused external temperature conditions.

The LVM-074W weighs in at only 600g and features threaded holes on the sides and bottom for multiple mounting configurations.

SPECS:  This monitor offers 1024 x 600 resolution, with a 170° viewing angle.  Input options are 1 x HDMI, 3 x RCA, and 2 x BNC.  Outputs are 1 x BNC and 1 x HDMI.  The monitor will convert HDMI to SDI, but not SDI to HDMI (can’t imagine why you would want to do that anyway).

The larger size of this monitor is going to be a major benefit for anyone pulling focus from the monitor, and is also a plus for directors and operators.  Order yours now at Filmtools.com or come by our store in Burbank, CA.
